You guys have probably seen all those "body positive" influencers telling people they can be "healthy at any size"...
Well, guess who's been cutting their checks...
NESTLE. COCA-COLA. GENERAL MILLS.
You read that right.
The same companies that have been systematically poisoning Americans with ultra-processed garbage are literally PAYING influencers to normalize being overweight.
A 2024 investigation by The Washington Post revealed that food and beverage giants are paying dozens of registered dietitians with millions of social media followers to push industry-friendly messages on Instagram and TikTok.
General Mills paid at least 10 registered dietitians to promote their cereals using the hashtag #DerailTheShame….
While telling people not to feel bad about eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs and Trix 🙄
Now I want to make something very clear…
The principles behind this movement were GOOD once upon a time:
Focus LESS on the number on the scale and MORE on healthy habits.
I can get behind that.
But here's the conundrum…
If people actually followed those healthy habits, they would lose weight naturally.
Instead, the movement has been completely co-opted by the “fat acceptance” movement, which now tries to justify that excess levels of adiposity are not bad for you.
It’s insane…
They claim the health risks are all based on "stress and discrimination” - that is utterly false.
Obesity increases your risk of death by around 18% overall, and up to 79–84% if obesity develops before age 30 (PMID: 29694805)
CVD risk rises by 49%, heart failure risk nearly doubles – even in "metabolically healthy" obese individuals (PMID: 28911506).
Diabetes? The lifetime risk jumps from 7.6% to 70.3% in men when BMI goes from normal to obese - a more than 800% increase (PMID: 17372155).
Cancer risk? Up to 62% increased risk for endometrial cancer, and 25–59% higher risk for several others (e.g. kidney, gallbladder) with each 5-point increase in BMI (PMID: 24369784).
Alzheimer’s and dementia risk? By about 17%, particularly when obesity occurs in midlife (PMID: 16109751).
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease? The risk soars more than 3.5-fold, with prevalence reaching up to 90% in obese individuals - a ~350% increase over general population rates (PMID: 30502373).
I could go on but I think I’ve made it pretty clear that this is not about feelings!
And here's the truly scary part…
Doctors are now being told that weighing patients is "fat shaming."
And TikTok campaigns funded by Big Food are convincing healthcare workers that basic medical measurements are somehow harmful ☠️
That is the OPPOSITE of compassion for overweight people.
It is nefarious corporate propaganda.
And it goes…
#1 Make Americans sick with ultra-processed foods
#2 Pay influencers to normalize the sickness and convince people that being unhealthy is actually healthy
#3 Profit from both ends by selling the poison AND selling the acceptance of its consequences
It’s a rampant problem…
American Beverage (representing Coca-Cola and PepsiCo) paid influencers to counter World Health Organization warnings about aspartame.
The Canadian Sugar Institute paid dietitians to promote eating ice cream and peanut butter cups while telling people that denying themselves sugary food will only make cravings worse.
And now the same companies doing the poisoning are paying people to convince us that the results are not only normal but HEALTHY.
So what should medical authorities do?
Simple.
They should say: "Americans should not be fat."
Not because being fat makes you a bad person…
But because obesity contributes to an estimated 112,000 preventable deaths each year.
Instead of normalizing sickness, we should be launching a national effort to stop the poisoning.
I don't care if this triggers people. The truth often does.
But I'd rather hurt feelings than watch millions of Americans health decline while being told their suffering is "beautiful" and "healthy."
We deserve better than propaganda disguised as self-love.
Because here’s what they don't want you to know:
REAL self-love is giving your body the foods humans evolved to thrive on – meat, organs, plant foods, honey, and raw dairy.
In abundance.
You don't need to count calories or restrict portions when you're eating nutrient-dense, species-appropriate foods.
You don't crave ultra-processed garbage when you're properly nourished.
And your body will naturally find it’s optimal weight.
