I'm NOT celebrating Serena Williams' latest "win"

August 31, 2025

I’m in Spain right now enjoying a little sabbatical, BUT…

I HAD to get this off my chest:

23-time Tennis Grand Slam champion Serena Williams just announced she's the new face of GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic…

After she lost 31 pounds using these medications, she’s now partnering with telehealth company Ro to "normalize" their use.

Look, I have nothing but respect for Serena as an athlete...

But this partnership is honestly a TRAVESTY.

Serena Williams has always been a symbol of strength, power, and athletic excellence.

She built her legendary career on discipline, training, and pushing her body to perform at the highest levels.

Now she's telling the world that even SHE couldn't lose weight without pharmaceutical intervention.

"I was doing everything right — working out, eating clean, following the plan. But my body wasn't responding the way it used to," … her words.

But here's what I want to know...

What exactly was she eating? 🤔

Because when most people say they're "eating clean," they're usually still consuming ultra-processed foods, seed oils, and fake health foods that are marketed as healthy.

Which brings me to a crucial point…

Serena has been following a mostly PLANT-BASED/VEGAN diet since 2012.

She even invested in Impossible Foods and ate those awful processed plant-based burgers. Look, I know she has battled various health issues… and I have nothing by empathy.

But eating seed oil-rich fake meat burgers?

Starving yourself and tanking your hormones? Respectfully, that is anything BUT correct…

And sadly, instead of addressing the root cause - she reached for a pharmaceutical band-aid.

Now, millions of people who look up to her are going to think this is the answer.

And here's something else that was left out of the campaign…

GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro can come with some serious long-term risks like muscle loss, bone density loss, gastroparesis, nutrient deficiencies… or worse (PMID 40445127, 12125019, 38739032, 11620716, 37713661)

(Honestly, it’s unsurprising these drug companies have so many lawsuits right now!)

So while Serena might LOOK great in her campaign photos...

The questions I’m asking are…

What's happening inside her body?

What might the long-term health implications be?

And what’s going to happen once she STOPS injecting herself?

Because I’m pretty confident she is not doing what I believe creates lifelong weight loss and optimal health.

The biggest problem is what this represents culturally…

When even elite athletes like Serena Williams can't maintain their weight through "traditional" methods, what message does that send?

It tells people that food doesn't matter.

It tells people that discipline and lifestyle changes aren't enough.

It tells people that the only way to be healthy is through pharmaceutical intervention.

Which, pardon my French, is complete

Bu**sh*t.

The real tragedy is Serena could have achieved her goals naturally...

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

You CAN change the trajectory of your health status with food quality.

I strongly believe that avoiding processed foods and eating more animal foods will improve your health and quality of life much more than taking any GLP-1 drug.

The studies are crystal clear on this...

When people eat nutrient-dense animal foods - meat, organs, eggs, raw dairy - they naturally feel more satiated, lose weight, improve their hormones and metabolic health WITHOUT pharmaceutical intervention.

And guess what?

Meat consumption is well documented to raise GLP-1 in the human body too (PMID: 17065399).

Yes… Meat > Ozempic.

So, my conclusion? If Serena had eaten a truly species-appropriate diet of grass-fed beef, organs, raw dairy, and fruit…

I'm CONFIDENT she would have eventually achieved her goals naturally.

But instead, she's promoting the idea that even the most disciplined athletes need pharmaceutical help.

Oh, and by the way…

Here's another suspicious detail they didn’t tell you...

Her husband, Alexis Ohanian, just happens to sit on the board of Ro, the company she's promoting.

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

So not only is she potentially harming her own health, but she's literally profiting off convincing other people to do the same (I’m getting Bill Gates vibes over here).

Look, I get it...

Women - especially those in the public eye - face unfair scrutiny of their bodies.

The heath challenges she has faced over the years is no joke…

But that doesn't make this partnership any less dangerous.

The real message should be this:

In the overwhelming majority of cases… You don't need a drug to be healthy.

You need to eat like a human.

Meat, organs, fruit, honey, raw dairy.

This is the true path to optimal health for LIFE.

Not for 8 months while you're injecting yourself with a potentially harmful pharmaceutical.

For LIFE.

So while everyone else is celebrating Serena's "brave" decision to speak out about GLP-1 use...

I'm MOURNING what this represents…

The complete medicalization of basic human health.

The idea that we can't trust our bodies or food choices.

The notion that pharmaceuticals are somehow superior to the foods humans have thrived on for hundreds of thousands of years.

Serena Williams was already a champion.

She didn't need Ozempic to prove that.

And neither do you.

Alright.

Rant over. I’m off to the local farmers' market!
