Zyn epidemic

October 26, 2025

I've been seeing those Zyn nicotine pouches everywhere lately…

And honestly, it's kind of crazy to me.

What’s supposed to be a tool for “quitting” nicotine has turned into a casual hack for focus and stress relief.

The fact is, Nicotine use has become so normalized that it's practically as ubiquitous as a cup of coffee now.

I get the appeal…

Nicotine does give you a temporary boost in mood and focus and can suppress appetite (nicotine for weight loss is a whole other conversation!).

That's why people are reaching for Zyn instead of, you know, actually fixing their diet or sleep.

And while these companies position Zyn as a "safer alternative" to help smokers quit...

You can bet they're not upset that millions of teenagers and adults across the U.S. are now using it recreationally for mood, focus, or just to get a dopamine hit.

Nicotine = dangerously addictive by design.

We know it.

The companies selling nicotine pouches absolutely know it.

So why would you ever put that stuff in your mouth?

Yes, nicotine occurs naturally in the body as a neurotransmitter...

But when you introduce exogenous nicotine - especially at the doses found in those pouches - it causes all sorts of negative effects in humans.

Nicotine raises blood pressure and increases heart rate - in some studies, pouches with higher nicotine content increased heart rate by around 25 beats per minute, similar to smoking cigarettes (PMID: 38841367)

It raises your sympathetic nervous system too (fight or flight nervous system), which can cause anxiety, mood swings, and disrupt sleep.

It constricts blood vessels and reduces heart rate variability, which are robust markers of cardiovascular risk.

And the icing on the cake?

It literally hijacks your dopamine system - the same reward pathway that makes all drugs addictive.

You already know how much your brain CRAVES dopamine…

But over time, you need more and more nicotine to get the same effect.

You see, chronic use increases nicotine receptors in your brain - addicted users have billions more of these receptors than non-users, making it incredibly difficult to quit.

So yeah, you might get a short-term ‘cognitive boost’...

But you're trading temporary focus for long-term dependency.

That's a terrible deal if you ask me!

And while nicotine pouches may not contain the chemicals, carcinogens or smoke from lung inhalation you get with cigarettes or vapes…

They’re "the next epidemic" as far as I'm concerned and we’re only beginning to understand their long-term effects.

Bottom line…

Nicotine is NOT good for humans in ANY dosage and you absolutely should quit.

Casually using it to boost your mood, focus or energy is a SLIPPERY SLOPE towards full blown addiction.

If you are relying on nicotine this way, you're just masking deeper problems instead of fixing them.

You have brain fog because you’re not getting adequate micronutrients

You can't focus because you're not sleeping well and are probably chronically stressed.

Fix those things first.

And then…

If you still want a “nootropic” for an extra edge or mood boost.

Know there are MUCH better, evolutionarily appropriate and non-addictive options…

Like Mood & Memory from Heart & Soil.

It contains grass-fed brain (including cortex, hypothalamus, pituitary, and pineal gland), bone marrow, and liver...

Packed with critical nutrients like phosphatidylserine for stress management and working memory, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) for nerve cell health, DHA/EPA for focus, choline for neurotransmitter synthesis, and B vitamins essential for mood and cognition.

Like I said, these are the nutrients your brain actually requires for optimal mental clarity, focus, and positive mood.

No addiction. No blood pressure spikes. No hijacked dopamine system.

Just real nutrition from real food that supports healthy neural connections and reduces brain inflammation.

The feedback we receive for this one is pretty amazing too - Check these out:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“My memory recall seems to be quicker, I have noticed remembering names of people that I have previously struggled with. Solving puzzles quicker on Wheel of Fortune! I have also noticed my sleep has been deeper, more vivid dreams.” – Jerry

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Three weeks of this supplement and already a difference. I could tell a marked change week one and improvements since then. I had what felt like brain fog and slower recall than I would like prior to taking this. I’ve recommended to multiple people. Don’t hesitate to try it. Worth it.” – Stacy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I just underwent a highly invasive brain surgery, and ordered this supplement. My immediate brain fog cleared after just 2 weeks, and coupled with Beef Organs and Liver/Bone Marrow, I would highly recommend this to anyone that has any type of cognitive issue. ” – Marcus

P.S. - If you are genuinely someone using Zyn to quit nicotine…

Here’s how I would go about it (without going cold turkey):

#1 Slowly decrease dosage - a couple milligrams per day - or taper down the strength of the pouches you’re using.

#2 There are also things you can do with your diet to reduce withdrawal symptoms and increase your focus, mood and energy (which takes a hit when you’re trying to quit).

Animal foods contain unique nutrients ESSENTIAL for cognitive health like choline, B12, DHA/EPA, Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), Zinc, Selenium, Iron, Copper etc.

You may also want to supplement some extra creatine too which has been shown in recent meta analyses to be incredible for brain function - 5-10g per day (PMID: 39070254)

#3 Exercise every day. This will help mitigate some of these nicotine withdrawal side effects (amazing for mood, ‘feel-good’ neurotransmitter release and brain blood flow).
